This website is owned and operated by Sage Media in Toronto, Canada.
We take privacy and integrity very seriously. Our clients trust us with their brands and trade secrets, and that trust is a privilege we endeavour to protect.
Access to data and code on our servers is restricted based on the principle of least privilege, and we use several authentication technologies to further protect it. If you have any questions about our security practices, please contact us.
In a Nutshell
Our website does not autonomously collect, store, or share personal information. It does not use social media tie-ins, ad services, or any other third party tracking pixels.
We don’t share your information with third parties for any purpose except secure invoicing and payment processing, or if required for legal reasons.
The only information we collect about you is that which you voluntarily and explicitly provide to us, such as in creating a client account, engaging in work with us, signing contracts, and processing payments online. None of this information is shared with others.
Sage Media does not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily provide it, such as by contacting us through online forms (including sending us questions, quote requests, or responding to job postings.) Personal information collected in these cases may include your name, contact details, email address, telephone number, information you choose to disclose about your business, or your resume.
We use self-hosted cookies to protect our website from bots and malicious actors online. Our security protocol automatically sets a cookie connected with the IP address used to visit this site. It then tracks requests made when browsing our site, so it can block visitors/bots which look like they're probing for vulnerabilities, searching for potential virus/exploit files, guessing admin passwords, etc. This data is not used to identify you personally, only to protect our site and its users.
When you engage in project work with us, we will set up a client account for you. Information collected and securely stored for this purpose would include your name, billing address, email address, company name, email address, and information specific to the work we are doing for you.
In order to log in to your client account, the site sets session cookies and checks your IP address. We don't share this info with anyone else; it is required to create and maintain a secure, unique user session for you.
We use Freshbooks and Stripe for accounting and payment processing.
When you pay, your credit card information goes directly to Stripe (secure payment gateway) bypassing our server entirely. We never have access to your credit card number, and we do not store it in any way.
Your name, contact info, invoice and payment status are also recorded in Freshbooks (secure accounting and invoicing platform). You can inspect or delete this information via your invoice links at any time.
If we believe the release of your information is absolutely necessary to respond to an official legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share information as permitted or required by applicable laws, rules, or regulations. This includes exchanging information with other entities for fraud protection.
We've been fortunate that our clients conduct themselves with honesty and integrity, so we have never had to use this clause. All the same, we've got to keep the lawyers happy.
We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please let us know.
